Tribute to Unsung Heroes of Ladakh

Under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Centre for Advanced Research on Development and Change (CARDC) New Delhi with Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa, Ladakh organised a grand event Krantiteerth to pay tribute to unsung heroes of Ladakh on 6th August 2023 at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra, Leh. 
Adv. Shri Tashi Gyalson, Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh was the Chief Guest, Col. (Retd.) Sonam Wangchuk, MVC was guest of Honour and Dr Amrita Shilpi, Secretary, Centre for Advance Research on Development and Change was the main speaker. Around 100 Vir Naris and Gallantry award winer Army ex servicemen from all over Ladakh were present during the event and they were felicitated during the event. 
The event started with welcome address by Shri Nawang Lotos, President, Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa, Leh Unit followed by patriotic song presentation by Youth wing of Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa. Chief Guest Adv. Shri Tashi Gyalson, Hon’ble Chairman, LAHDC, Leh and guest of honour Col. (Retd.) Sonam Wangchuk, MVC appreciated the effort of Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa for organising such an event for honouring the Vir Naris and Army Veterans and remembered the great contribution made by the soldiers of Ladakh Scouts and people of Ladakh for protecting our Country. Dr Amrita Shilpi presented a detailed narration of the events being conducted under Krantiteerth and highlighted the nature and purpose of this initiative. An urn containing soil of Balidhan Bhumi of Ladakh was presented to her by CEC. Dr. Padma Gurmet, President, Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa, U.T Ladakh offered thanks to Vir Naris and Gallantry award winer Army ex servicemen for their service and sacrifice to the Nation on behalf of organisers.
